A-FILM Productions produces both documentaries and feature films. Apart from this we offer extensive line producing services for (foreign) film teams in the whole of Russia and other CIS countries. Here is an impression of what we have done so far.

Moscow Dreams

The film depicts a model contest taking place in Russia. Initially, castings are held in fifteen different Russian cities to find the most beautiful young woman between the ages of 14 and 18. These twenty four girls are invited to Moscow, where they have one week to prepare and train for the final show. They learn catwalk technique, complete a fitness regime, all while being ordered about roughly by the director to perfect their choreography. Two renowned French agents arrive in Moscow to select the winner of the contest, who will be offered a contract with the agency.

The film’s ironic images and its satirical note put the model business into question; without making fun of the models themselves and their hard work...

Wilhelm Kube, born in Silesia in 1887, was head of the Nazi district Brandenburg (as Gauleiter) and later responsible as leader of the occupation government in Minsk, Belarus. In September 1943, Kube was killed by a bomb which had been planted by the female Belarussian partisan Elena Mazanik, Kube's housemaid.
Einriched by feature film elements, our documentary film follows the biography of Kube, his life in Belarus as "Generalkommisar," the situation in occupied Belarus and the partisans. Many scenes were shot at original locations in and around Minsk.

Documentary film about the massacre in Beslan

Beslan – in the Northern Russian region Ossetian: The film is based on snapshots of families and people in the streets of Beslan a few days after the hostage-taking and massacre in September, 2004, in which, above all, innocent children and teachers died. The film observes the people of the town - passers-by, officials, parents, child hostages - in grief, defence and shock. To this day, the tragedy has still not been officially cleared up.

Young soldiers, symbols of power, are doing their exactly choreographed, daily ritual of change of guards. Unintentionally, they present themselves as dancers moving like puppets.

Lars and David don’t have an exact plan for their future. They hang around, enjoy life as good as possible and when it comes to making a living they endorse criminal methods.
Marie lives with her father. He, too, earns his living illegally, and he doesn’t care much about his daughter Marie. Marie yearns to move to her mother, who lives in Malmö, Sweden. By accident, Marie meets David and Lars, which turns out to be a fateful meeting. David and Lars plan a break-in. But it is Marie that accompanies David on this precarious raid...
